SPORTS HANDICAPPING
Personal Project

DESCRIPTION

Sports betting is a growing industry with the rise of recreational books such as FanDuel and DraftKings. However, sports betting has been around even since the ancient Greeks. It draws data analysts and sports pundits with the endless number of games, and data analysis to back it up. Everyone has different models and different predictions, allowing them to perceive a market or line as being mispriced.

I was curious in tracking predictions from different handicappers to identify where their strengths lie and if tailing a particular handicapper in a specific league is profitable. I built a process to database predictions from dozens of different handicappers and built a dashboard to allow filtering past results by league, bet type, spread, side, etc... The sources of data come from a combination of ESPN, Odds Checker, Doc Sports, Number Fire, and Action Network.
